  • The Delphis series is part of the Gyptis and Protis collection, which celebrates the founding myth of the city of Marseille. It tells the story of the union between Gyptis, a Celtic princess, and Protis, a Phocaean navigator. The tradition dictates that on her wedding day, the bride-to-be selects from a table of potential suitors a man to become her husband. Gyptis chose Protis; through a woman's choice, the city of Marseille is founded, an act of love that unites two cultures and symbolizes the acceptance of diversity.

This legendary union between Gyptis and Protis is widely regarded as the founding moment of Marseille, marking the inception of a city that would thrive as a vibrant hub of trade, culture, and maritime prowess. The Gyptis and Protis collection, through its artistic expression, pays homage to this timeless tale, celebrating the rich tapestry of Marseille's heritage and the enduring spirit of unity and diversity that defines the city to this day.

The Delphis series also draws inspiration from the ancient representation of dolphins: for ancient Greek and Roman sailors, dolphins were symbols of protection and divine guidance. This mythological-looking dolphin is represented across the jewelry pieces and adorned with a Tahitian black pearl.

  • A Tahitian black pearl is a type of cultured pearl produced by the black-lipped oyster, Pinctada margaritifera, primarily found in the waters surrounding Tahiti and other French Polynesian islands. These pearls are prized for their unique dark coloration, ranging from shades of grey to black, often exhibiting iridescent overtones of peacock green, blue, or purple.

Tahitian black pearls are renowned for their larger size compared to other types of pearls, as well as their exceptional luster and smooth surface quality. Highly sought after in the world of luxury jewelry, Tahitian black pearls are esteemed for their exotic beauty and rarity, symbolizing elegance and sophistication.

  • The Pinctada pendant is available in recycled silver 925.
